BEHIND THE RESULT

How this giveaway winner picker works

Each eligible entry has an equal chance on each pick. This tool uses your browser’s Web Crypto random source with rejection sampling to avoid selection bias. Once an entrant is picked, all entries with that identity are removed from the remaining pool, including before alternates are selected.

HOW IT WORKS

Your entries → duplicate check → random winners → ordered alternates

A quick example

Alex, Sam, Alex, and Kim contain three unique entrants. With duplicates removed, each has one chance. With repeated entries kept, Alex has two chances on the first pick, but can still win only once.

Keep in mind

  • Check eligibility and entry rules before loading your final list. This tool does not verify them or fetch social-media comments.
  • Duplicates ignore case, surrounding whitespace, and equivalent Unicode forms. In a CSV, choose an email or other unique identifier to distinguish people with the same name.
  • Supports UTF-8 CSV files up to 20 MB, 100,000 entries, 100 columns, and 1,000,000 cells. Pasted lists support up to 20,000 entries and 2 MB. Draw up to 100 winners and alternates in total. Blank rows are skipped.
  • Entries and results stay in this page’s memory until you reset or leave. Save the results before closing. The download is a personal record, not an independently verified certificate.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A little more
context.

Entries, CSV exports, duplicates, and your draw.

How large a CSV can this free giveaway picker handle?
Open a UTF-8 CSV up to 20 MB with up to 100,000 entries, 100 columns, and 1,000,000 cells. Parsing and drawing happen in a background browser task. Remove unused columns if the file is too large. For more than 100,000 entries, use a tool that supports the whole list; separate draws from split files can change the odds. Device memory and speed still vary. Pasted lists support up to 20,000 entries and 2 MB.
How do I pick a random giveaway winner?
Paste one entry per line or open a CSV. Check the entry count and duplicate setting, choose the number of winners, then select Draw winners. You can also draw ordered alternates and download a CSV of the results.
Can I use an export from Youform or Google Forms?
Yes. Export your responses as a CSV and open it here. Select the column to display and, if available, an email or other unique identifier for duplicate handling. Other form and spreadsheet CSV exports work too.
Are duplicate entries removed?
By default, each identity gets one chance. Turn off Remove duplicate entries only when your rules allow extra entries. Repeated entries then increase the chance of being selected, but each identity can be picked only once across winners and alternates.
Are my entries uploaded or saved?
No. This picker reads entries and selects winners in your browser. Entries are not uploaded to Youform or saved by the picker. Resetting or leaving the page clears them; copy or download your results first.
Can it pick an Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube comment winner?
It can draw from a list you already have, including exported usernames. It does not fetch comments, check follows, or connect to social accounts.
Does the download prove the draw was fair?
The CSV records the time, counts, duplicate setting, winners, and alternates. It is not a public audit trail and cannot prove that the list was eligible or that you ran only one draw.
